World Ikat Textiles Symposium (WITS) is an annual event offering a common platform to celebrate ikat, a textile technique shared across the world.

Its objectives are to inform and educate on various ikat traditions to foster cross-cultural exchanges on issues impacting ikat-producing communities and heritage preservation, and to develop connections between organizations, artisans and textile lovers. Previously held in the UK, India, Malaysia and Thailand, the fifth edition of WITS was held in Jakarta, Indonesia on August this year.
